Why I Can't Vote for Obama

Regardless of who is elected, I know who the real leader is.

God simply does not approve of Obama's treatment of children in the womb.

McCain understands when life begins. Even with two daughters Obama has no clue.

How many commandments have you broken? Did you support it or condone it?

How about me you might ask? All ten.

Yes, abortion is murder. Denying this fact only mocks God.

The great thing is that Jesus forgives. All you have to do is accept and ask for forgiveness.

What about those of us who believe in God, but don't belong to a religion. I want religion out of my government. I believe that belonging to a religion and thinking they are the only right religion is exceedingly arrogant. You cannot know what God wants. You can know what other men believe what God wants, but you cannot know until you die. Abortion is not murder. I believe that life begins and ends with a heart beat, and medicine agrees with me. You're not legally dead until your heart stops beating, so why should you be legally alive until it does. And putting a blanket ban on abortion is wrong, wrong, and wrong. What about in cases of rape or incest? If I'm raped, I don't want to give birth to the child of a man who hurt me. He doesn't deserve to have his genes passed on. And incest, well, again, I don't want to give birth to the child of a man who hurt me. What about when having the baby might kill the mother? That woman should be allowed an abortion. Or what about the babies that have horrible genetic mutations that may cause them to suffer and die right after they are born? Do you want them to suffer, just to assuage your own conscience? Also, banning abortions would just make women seek back-alley abortions. It wouldn't stop abortions, it would only make women sick and maybe die from them. Don't ever try to force your religion on someone who doesn't believe the same things you do.

Let me just start by saying that I am pro-choice. But to me, pro-choice does not necessary mean that confronted with an unwanted pregnancy you would abort. You can be pro-choice and still believe that abortion is not the right answer, the same way you can be pro-choice and have no second thoughts about abortion. The key element of pro-choice is recognizing that others are capable of making choices for themselves. I am horrified by they way people who consider themselves pro-choice criticize Sarah Palin for choosing to have a down syndrome baby. Maybe this is not the choice you would make, but it is not your life or your child. You cannot be pro-choice and say that someone shouldn't be allowed to have their child. It is the same as saying a rape victim should be forced to have their child. Both are anti-choice. Both are wrong.

I am against people having abortions.

Tbh... I'm not overly sure of my right to participate in this discussion... I'm not an American.
But in my opinion... although I think abortion is wrong, its also wrong to force people to have one. And illegalising it (if illegalising can be considered a word) won't stop people from having them. It will just increase deaths; that of the baby and mother.

Not voting Obama because of this single issue is short-sighted at best. McCain/Palin have made it very clear that they're willing to go into any country they choose and kill innocent people along with whomever they decide MIGHT be terrorists (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... that fear thing again!). Kill. Murder. Maim. Blow up. KILL, KILL, KILL.... get it????????????????????????????????? So why is that more "Christian" than the other thing?

Look, Neal, I respect your right to try and advance your obvious agenda. But you are not looking at the bigger picture. Obama will "take your income and redistribute it???" Wow, you must be making an awful lot of money. My guess is I'm making more than you, and still I'm voting Obama. Oh yes, and that "redistribution" will go toward providing needed services for those who are out of work, out of insurance, out of homes because of the current economic crisis. Hmmmm... sounds vaguely Christian to me.

Freaked out about Jihadists descending on us from all those evil countries? If God is taking care of you in every way, why worry about something like that? I mean if some evil terrorist gets you, it must be God's will, right? Most of us here have decided to stop living in fear. I will not live in fear and I will not be manipulated by those who use fear to control the people they claim to represent.I happen to be a card-carrying Lutheran, pro-choice because I have no right to try and impose either my religion or my morality on others. My walk with God is personal, and if there's judgment there, it's between Him and me.

When was socialism ever bad? If we lived in a society that existed solely on a Capitalistic basis, the poor would be in such horrible conditions, there would be an increase in crime, an uprising and even major revolution. Exhibit A: Um, the history of Eastern Europe.

And people shouldn't be worried about the amount of taxes. They *should* be worried about where their taxes are going. Would you rather pay a small amount of taxes every year for a pointless war you don't believe in or a large amount to rebuild your state highway (not based on actual estimations, just to give a general idea of why thinking otherwise is ignorant).

Socialism has never worked where it has been tried, yet liberal insist that the right people have not been in place to make it work.

Surely you understand that under socialism EVERYONE would be in such horrible conditions. An this exact history of Eastern Europe is why we do not need to go down that road. Eastern Europe was socialist. You can not build up the poor by dragging down the rich.

I want my taxes to go towards the things that are specifically named in the Constitution. I can only pray that it is "a small amount".

I find it fascinating that you only respond to certain things. Did you want to explain why genocide is okay with God but abortion isn't? You truly bastardize the whole concept of Christian love. You can't pick and choose what to legislate as a mouthpiece for the higher power. Shame on you for trying to. And now you're praying about how big your taxes should be? Woot, dude, you DO have a very special relationship with the big guy upstairs, don't you?

It irritates me when people throw out terms like "all liberals". Haven't you seen by your time here that we have differing views on different subjects, and in fact some of us lean much more toward the left than others? You can't throw us all under one blanket. Each of us has our own beliefs. Going to church with you ain't gonna change 'em. Reasoned arguments might, but I haven't seen a lot of those from you.

Eastern Europe was never socialist, it was communist. The two are different, I assure you. And yes, communism according to USSR/Yugoslavian ideals failed. Communism in general, is a great idea, but not a practical form of government.

Social democracy, on the other hand, has experienced moderate success over the world. It's not perfect, of course, but neither is our form of democracy. In some ways it has been more successful than our democracy. It is this incorporation of certain socialist ideals into our own capitalist democracy that (generalizing things, of course,) extremely leftist liberals don't see any problem with, as it has worked in other countries, and which conservative America wishes to avoid like the black plague.

I'm Pro-Choice woman should have the choice. It's their child they decide!
At the same time I dont think Abortion should be used as a form of birth control!
That's my view of abortion!
