YA for Obama

Regardless of who is elected, I know who the real leader is.

God simply does not approve of Obama's treatment of children in the womb.

"This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,
Isaiah 44:23-25 (in Context) Isaiah 44 (Whole Chapter)

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. Jeremiah 1:4-6 (in Context) Jeremiah 1 (Whole Chapter)

McCain understands when life begins. Even with two daughters Obama has no clue.

How many commandments have you broken? Did you support it or condone it?

How about me you might ask? All ten.

Yes, abortion is murder. Denying this fact only mocks God.

The great thing is that Jesus forgives. All you have to do is accept and ask for forgiveness.

No God No Peace
Know Jesus Know Peace

God is in charge. We are just electing a President.
Now, go vote your conscience.

If you aren't trying to convert us, then what are you doing?

What's wrong with being Wiccan (or anything else, for that matter?) Have you ever read the first amendment?
you ask,Have you ever read the first amendment?

Would you be refering to the part of the First Amendment where it says that the church and state are separate?

Not ignoring your quotes, I just have a quote to work on that will allow Obama to confiscate 39% if he is elected.
No, the part where it says that we have freedom of religion.
I am not forcing any religion or my beliefs on anyone.

Well... yes, you are. You want the President (whomever it may be) to make abortion illegal, based on your beliefs. If the President passed that law, that would be forcing at least one aspect of your/his religion on those who have the right not to be religious. Can we not agree on that?
Unfortunately, we can not agree. My true desire would be for people, on their own, to recognize the brutality in abortion and take action. We depend on the government for far too much already...to the tune of nearly 10 trillion in debt.
We depend on the government for far too much already...to the tune of nearly 10 trillion in debt.

While this is true, it's well beside the point. As is your desire for people to "realize the brutality in abortion." My question to you, supported in my earlier posts, is whether or not you agree if it would be wrong for the President to pass a law illegalizing abortion (based on what is stated in the Holy Bible), in a country that GUARANTEES our constitutional right to freedom of religion? In other words, is it morally right to force others, who are just as convinced of their religion as you are of your's (see earlier Buddhist example), to adhere to the constraints of your religion without choice under penalty of law?

Again, you can desire for people to realize their religion is "wrong" and your's is "right" and therefore they should convert and then wouldn't want abortions anymore, but that is neither here nor there and is not what I'm asking. My question has nothing to do with what you believe about abortion. So one more time: Can you or can you not agree that forcing your religious beliefs (and I do not mean your religion) on others is morally wrong and violates our rights as Americans?
Let's get back to the title of the initial post, "Why I Can't Vote For Obama".

It isn't titled "Why You Shouldn't Vote for Obama" or "Only Ignorant Non-Chrisitians Should Vote For Obama".

Why I can't vote for Obama is simply supported by a few passages from the Bible.

It references the fact that Obama could not even answer the simple question, "AT WHAT POINT DOES A BABY GET HUMAN RIGHTS IN YOUR VIEW?"...He has two daughters...Do they have human rights yet?...Is that above his pay grade? ... I digress...

Ah, the Ten Commandments...Is this what has everyone up in arms? Are these simple rules so repulsive that we can choose to ignore them, because we have "free will"?

I told everyone that I am a sinner. We all are. Every day.

Convincing ourselves, in the guise of the concept of "Pro-Choice", that abortion is an acceptable practice in a modern society, honors no God.

I am lucky to have a personal relationship with a caring, forgiving God, who throughout the ages has experienced man's expression of "free will". Man had turned his back to God countless numbers of times. Yet he is there for us.

43% of women will have had at least one abortion by age 45. The emotional and psychological effects of abortion; anxiety, depression, loss, anger, and even suicide are huge.

If I reach just one woman and she is encouraged to seek out a relationship with God and engage in a support network that can be found in most churches to help her with her choice, whatever it may be, then I have accomplished something.

I have not forced anything. Have I made some people think? Hopefully. Is talking about them morally wrong and violates our rights as Americans? Certainly not.

You can not force beliefs on others. They have seek out God and be overcome with the Spirit willingly. I can only encourage them to do so.
I simply do not know how to say this in any other way, as I have said it at least five times by now.

You asked if talking about your views is morally wrong? OF COURSE NOT, and that was not what I was talking about.

You wanted to go back to your original post, but I can't help but wonder why you avoid my question. Can you answer it? You say that you cannot vote for Obama because he is not one hundred percent anti-abortion, correct? And you will vote for McCain in the hopes that he will illegalize abortion.

Consider, again, please, my earlier example. Say, somehow, a candidate was elected who was a Wiccan. And say that candidate passed a law forcing everyone is the United States to join covens and practice magic under penalty of law. How would you feel about that?

You say that we ignore one of the Ten Commandments under the guise of "free will." To you, this sounds ridiculous and horribly sad. But to someone, who is still a legitimate American citizen, but who does not believe in the Bible... the Ten Commandments have no more effect on them than the writings of the Mormon bible or the Qur'an do on you.

I know it is difficult, but by placing yourself in someone else's shoes you should be able to see how wrong it is for a LAW to be made according to any religion.

Consider for a moment how devoted you are to your faith. There is nothing wrong with that whatsoever, but someone of a different religion could be just as devoted to their own. And if they live in a country where freedom of religion is a guaranteed constitutional right, and suddenly the President is passing laws according to his own religion (whatever it may be)... well they've just been royally screwed out of their inherent rights as citizens haven't they?

Because America is such a diverse place with people of so many varying religions, picking one of them and passing laws according to it is completely disregarding all other citizens of different religions. "Honoring God" is not the ultimate goal of everyone.

I'm not saying your talking about your views violates our natural rights, that is ridiculous. But passing a law illegalizing abortion to better follow the commandments in YOUR bible, is taking away our constitutional right to freedom of religion. The Christian bible is not the only bible out there, and you cannot use it to make laws any more than another person could use The Book of Mormon to pass a law illegalizing coffee or going to school dances until you are sixteen.
While 100% agreeing with what you just said, Sydney, I have another, similar point to make. That fact that you (Neal) claim that you are not forcing your religion on anyone, and then immediately following it with the claim that you can show me God, is incredibly contradictory, and feels very imposing. What if I was already set in my beliefs? What makes you think that you can change my mind?
Come to church with me this Sunday.
It's pretty simple, really: if you don't believe in abortion...don't get one. Nobody's forcing you!

Ultimately, the abortion issue is about control. Those who don't believe in it believe they should have the right to control those who believe it should be a personal choice.

And just for the record, I don't know any women who say they're "for" abortion. They say they're for the right to choose that option.

Slogans based on controversial political issues are dangerous. Abortion is a complex issue, and can't be reduced to "pro-life" or "pro-abortion." While I wish Obama wouldn't have expressed this the way he did (remarking that it was above his pay grade to decide), I think he's absolutely right.
I think when arguing this point, it's important to remember that not everyone believes in God, and for the atheists out there it's nice to think that we can make our own decisions about how we use our wombs without somebody else forcing their religion on to us. I don't think it's ever okay to use your own rules to tell people what to do, especially if those are rules made by someone I don't believe exists. Pro Life might be your choice, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing for everyone else, and I don't think that women deserve to have the right to choose taken away from them. No one should get to control what goes on in my body, or we might as well erase a hundred years of suffragettes fighting for women's rights and go right back to the Victorian age.
