About me

Hi, I'm Genevieve from California. Right now I am working for the Democratic Party to register people to vote. I typically table in front of stores, at Farmers Markets, or at the University in town. I have to be informed about what is going on so then I can argue with the non-Obama supporters and inform them on how Awesome Obama is... To this date, I've converted a huge number of McCain fans to vote for Obama. Tell your friends to register! It's an important thing.

Did you know that each party receives about $200 of federal funding per each person who registers? Yes it's true. So I try to get anyone who is planning to voting for Obama to switch to the Democratic Party. Obama isn't taking that money, but it goes to the Democrats of your city and for organizations like mine to get people out on the streets!

The future of YA for Obama

Hello Ya for Obama! Since the beginning of September, this site has been running as a venue for people who are fans of Obama. And as many of you may know, yesterday Barack Obama won the presidency in the United States of America. Now, we are all wondering "What's next?". Maureen Johnson, the fabulous webmistress, has asked us what we'd do if we ran the site. Well Maureen, I have a few ideas!

First of all, I would not shut this site down. It is way too cool to stop it. I've met so many people an… Continue

Thank you YA for Obama

On Saturday I received the Marc Jacobs bag and signed ARC of Potions and Parties by Sarah Mlynowski. I've been so excited about it. As soon as the election is over I'm going to read the book! I've been taking the bag everywhere I go. So I'd like to say "Thank You! to YA for Obama and Sarah Mlynowski!".

I've been very busy since my last blog. Although registering people to vote ended on the 20th of October, work has still continued. We've been doing GOTV (Get Out The Vote) in my county and the n… Continue

A little bit about my experiences registering people to vote in CA

The last few months have been crazy for me. I've been registering people to vote (as my job) in CA since the end of August/beginning of September. Today (or technically yesterday since it is past midnight) was the last day to register people to vote. The last three-ish weeks I've been working 37+ hours a week trying to get as many people to register. (well, we can only get paid for 37 hours and anything more is volunteering, which is fine with me! I try to put in as many volunteer hours as I can… Continue

A blog about separation of Church & State, plus sex education in schools

I have to admit that I wrote most of this in one of the forums a few weeks ago, but I want to put it here in my blog anyways. I do plan to write some new blogs later this week.

"How do people here feel about teaching creationism is school?
How do you feel about cutting out science lessons, like evolution?"

As a person who believes in God and religion, I think that teaching creationism in school should not be done. Yes, I think that God created the earth, but I don't take the literal in… Continue

Top 10 reasons why I do not like Sarah Palin

Top 10 reasons why I do not like Sarah Palin (in no order):

1) She has tried to ban books. I read that the Canterbury Tales by Chaucer was one of the books... Uh, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that one of the oldest books in the English language?
2) Trying to have women be charged for their rape kits, which costs between $300-$1,200. Hilary Clinton worked hard for rape kits to be free.
3) Some people try to say that Obama does not have enough experience, Sarah was mayor of a small city fo… Continue

sorry...I must admit that I was wrong to not properly provide "concrete" evidence for my assaults. Sorry! I was just really riled up after I read sites of which exposed corruption. http://www.government-propaganda.com/ anyways...I found out how voting is done (ppl actually count and tape votes). There are such things as poll tapes and some states actually hand count votes!!! I changed my view on the government...I think it's a dark subject that most americans have little info on beside propaganda

didya ever think that voting was just a front for people to THINK their opinions matter? didya ever think that presidents REALLY control america? didya think that may b the illuminati are behind the world and manipulate us "common" people behind our backs?

voting doesn't matter. This is all part of a scheme to help people think they have a say when they actually don't. Gov't figured this out 100 years ago and these "politics" are actually a front. www.conspiracyarchive.com if u wanna find out the truth

I am in the middle, the part where she is with Harry and the Potters! I love Pottercast, and the book is amazing. Like I said it brings back that warm feeling! =]

Palin seriously tried to ban Canterbury Tales? LOL And actually, it is one of the first well-known books to survive from that age that has most of the modern style intact. There are many, many books that survive that were written in "old english" (ex = beowulf)
