MAGS has a crush on Obama?

More about me than you ever wanted to know.

Hello! My name is Margaret, but you can call me Mags, Meg, Maggie...really whatever you want. I have too many names to count. Pleased to meet you. ;D I'm fifteen years old. I live on the east coast of the US of A in midstate New York and am a sophomore in high school.

I love music, and during the fall marching band is my life. Of course, this year, the election is kind of getting in the way.

I love politics, and I love reading, and I love Obama. Therefore, I adore this site.

My New Bumper Sticker

Yesterday my sister's chorus sang God Bless America at a semi-pro hockey game, and there happened to be some kind of Getty sponsorship going on. When we walked in, we were handed complimentary River Rats travel mugs, courtesy of Getty, and as my friend Breanna and I circumnavigated the arena repeatedly while waiting for our little sisters' performance and the game, we noticed a Getty table with free stuff!

Clearly I'm a socialist too, because I am not one to turn down free stuff. (Especi… Continue

Maureen's Coffee Metaphor

I say we turn this site into the "state-of-the-art Obama coffee truck" that Maureen talked about in her Hiring Obama post, and give the people (us) what they (we) want. Use it to post news relevant to our interests, both as Democrats and (mainly) youth. Keep the fantastic discussions going. Pass out free pumpkin spiced lattes.

We all cared deeply about this election, and we need to keep caring about our country's direction. As a team, we are unstoppable. We all know that we, the YA for Obamians… Continue

Remember, remember the fifth of November

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

I think for all of us here, November 5, 2008 will be one of the most memorable days of our lives. I know that I have never had so much invested in an election before, and no matter what the outcome, it'll leave a pretty big impression. I doubt that the election results will set off a tradition of McCain/Obama effigy burning that will last for centuries, but… Continue

Getting Out the Vote...on Halloween?

Politics: Can't live with it or without it.

Okay, so that cliche is supposed to be about women, but that's how I feel about politics. It drives me insane, I think it's ridiculous, but I love it. My dad spent most of the first half of my life (so far) writing a dissertation in order to get his PhD so he could be a professor of political science, and the internet homepage on all of our computers has been CNN.com since the 2000 election (the first election year during which I was above the… Continue

voting doesn't matter. This is all part of a scheme to help people think they have a say when they actually don't. Gov't figured this out 100 years ago and these "politics" are actually a front. www.conspiracyarchive.com if u wanna find out the truth

Yeah, I need to do a lot of rephrasing. That blog was brought on by anger.

I am still thinking about it. I really, really don't want to get in trouble. :/

I don't think it has ever been a problem before. People make posters for a lot of different things and just hang them up everywhere without asking. I think it's probably because the election is kind of controversial, and they don't want to seem biased.
