So Maureen was far too shy and modest to post this video (in the post below this one) extolling her awesomeness. Maybe she thought that featuring it herself would be like throwing her own surprise party.

But lucky for all of you, I'm very wily and have managed to finagle the master password to the site. And now I'm featuring the video, whether she likes it or not. (Okay, so she's sitting right here next to me. Which is how I know she likes it. She LOVES it.)

George Will is one of the most well-respected conservative thinkers around and, while I disagree with almost everything that comes out of his mouth, I kind of love him. He can usually be counted on to be the smartest person in any given room (or at least on every given television show) and he's not shy about making sure everyone knows him.

I'm the first to admit that Sarah Palin is a distraction, and not a useful one. Unless we're focusing on the fact that McCain made the first crucially important decision of his would-be presidency in a half-assed, rash, politically expedient move designed to win a news cycle (and I feel everyone should be free to focus on that), beating up on Sarah is probably not constructive. (The Democrats beat Quayle in '88 -- but they still lost to Bush.)
