If we aren't tired of good news

Associated Press just reported that North Carolina, that "still no definite word" state, has just been called for Obama, bringing him to 364 electoral votes.

I know that plus winning is still winning, but it means one more state won't have a major hate on for him, and he's going to need that in the months ahead!

So hooray, North Carolina! Welcome back to the Union! We've been missing you!

Greater love hath no man

Most of you haven't met my beloved Spouse-Creature, Tim Liebe. Those of you who have probably have not engaged him in political converse. Well, Sarah Durst may have heard him. The thing is, when my Spouse-Creature begins to talk politics, he gets a little . . . excited. Eager. Emphatic. Particularly when we come to certain subjects, like . . . Bush (père or fils--or Barbara). Cheney. Rove. Gonzalez. Rice. Ashcroft. McCain. Palin. He gets red in the face about everything Republican… Continue

I am from western Pennsylvania

Yep. And maybe Representative Murtha was right--there are a lot of racists there. My maternal grandfather was one, with a captial K--as in, KKK. But my mother was not. She was an abusive alcoholic, but she was not a racist, and she taught her daughters not to be racist, as it was defined in the 1960s.

Most of my friends in high school were not racists. I went to two high schools in western Pennsylvania, and we were all on a "wait and see" basis, blacks and whites alike. We younger ones had to o… Continue

To Joe the Overexposed Plumber--Suck It Up

Last night (10/22/08) Keith Olbermann aired the complete encounter between Barack Obama and the now up-to-20-undeserved-seconds-of-fame Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber." The part that concerns me now--since I've already discussed how I feel sorry for this mope who's been yanked unasked into the limelight by Senator McCain (who is still mentioning this guy like he is a vote fertility talisman that the priest swore would work before election day)--is that Joe mention… Continue

Hey Tamora,

I'm just stopping by to see if you were interested in helping a fellow Unicorn. FiveAwesomeYAFans has launched an Anthology book and we are going full force after our favorite authors--and I was wondering if you had time to submit a story for our book!

I have a full proposal written up (some changes will take place to it--just the percentage parts) so hopefully you have time and are interested in helping out!

Info: http://www.fivefanscharity.blogspot.com/

Hope to hear from you soon
UNICORNS ROCK!!

Hi Tamora. Thank you. Just... thank you. I am so glad you posted on that Team Sarah thread. Truly, you made my day. You've made my week. I will cut and paste your post in my Word document so when I'm feeling down, I can read your post and feel uplifted. I particularly appreciate the facts you brought to the table. I'm better informed for reading your post.

Tamora, when I saw the posts from the proud Team Sarah member I wanted so badly to respond but just couldn't muster the energy to do so. Thank you, oh brave champion of YA for Obama, for your thorough point-by-point rebuttal.

Do you have anymore info on the signing at Darkover Con? You said before that there might be an arrangement for fans who don't attend the con to get their books signed. Is that still going on?

Ha ha.
I've found that I'm rather good at procrastinating. Whenever I could be writing I'm off doing other stuff.

I now have a plot :)

Ack! How do you do it?
I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year and I have no idea what my main event is going to be! *frustration*
