There are moments in history which, upon remembering, you will be able to recall exactly where you were and what you were doing. The assassination of Kennedy, the collapse of the Berlin Wall, and 9/11 are all embedded into the American consciousness. Now, for me, listed among those life changing and world altering events, is the moment I heard the news that President Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize. I recall that morning perfectly. As I heard the news, a strawberry Pop-tart hovering inches b… Continue

Hello,
My name is Doris Anne Beaulieu. I have a website-Life’s Ultimate Test dot com-on which you can learn more about my mission to change the face of home schooling.
I attended a parochial school as a child in the 1950's. In this Catholic school I was sheltered from the realities of the world around me-from swearing, from public displays of affection, from slang. These are often some of the same things that modern home schooling parents aim to protect their children from. A superior court judg… Continue

Hello everyone!
Barack Obama has been chosen as the TIME Person of the Year for 2008! To quote the website, "In one of the craziest elections in American history, he overcame a lack of experience, a funny name, two candidates who are political institutions and the racial divide to become the 44th President of the United States."
That's our man. Yes we did! Continue

I went to see a Michael Franti & Spearhead concert last month and I was DELIGHTED when one of their encore songs was a song that they'd written about Barack Obama, his election as President-elect, and his message. The description of the song in the e-mail I was sent telling me that the song can be downloaded for free on iLike.com is: The song is a tribute to the president elect Barack Obama and is a celebration of the hope and optimism that has filled the hearts and minds of the country ever… Continue

And I am not a sensitive person:
Love and marriage are human rights. You can throw whatever arguement you have against me out there, but I don't see how anybody can deny anybody else the right to marry who they love. Continue

I am Eighteen years old, I voted for Obama. I went in with my EDUCATED vote and helped choose the future that I believed would help every American! I kept my posts on my personal web pages, as well as YA for Obama. I did not go and upload blog posts trying to convince everyone at YA For McCain to vote for Obama, no--I stuck to my writing here and let the people come two me.
I log in this morning with three new blogs to view! One bearing the face of Sarah Palin. It seems the little group… Continue
Im not going to write too much tonight. I just wanted to make a small comparison, one I'm sure many of you have already made.
I was looking at YaForObama tonight and I went to the bottom of the page, and there staring out at me was a picture with the caption "Inexperienced Illinois Senator". It was a picture of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.
Now, this made me smile really wide, as it usually did when I saw it. But tonight I thought about it some more. Not only do both our 16th president… Continue

Yesterday my sister's chorus sang God Bless America at a semi-pro hockey game, and there happened to be some kind of Getty sponsorship going on. When we walked in, we were handed complimentary River Rats travel mugs, courtesy of Getty, and as my friend Breanna and I circumnavigated the arena repeatedly while waiting for our little sisters' performance and the game, we noticed a Getty table with free stuff!
Clearly I'm a socialist too, because I am not one to turn down free stuff. (Especi… Continue

The election of Obama was a watershed moment in United States history. The first steps of shaping his new cabinet are being taken now, and lists of possible cabinet members are beginning to circulate. One of Obama's most crucial appointees will be Education Secretary. On Huffington Post, there is a list of his possible choices. The name Colin Powell leads the list, but the name that should make YA autho… Continue
In high school I read a book called "Warriors Don't Cry" by Melba Patillo Beals. It was the story of a young, African-American who attended Little Rock, Arkasas' Central High School during the first years of integration of the schools. The book detailed the trials and tribulations she, and others, faced as one of nine African-American students attending what was previously an all white school. Reading her story ignited a firestorm within me, one of anger and rage at the shear stupidity and ignor… Continue

We did it, but what is next? Are we all going to forget about this website and go our own ways. If that is what you had in mind I feel that you really did not keep up with everything anyhow. This is a site of change, that change will not be over until Obama serves his both terms [;)] as president.
So what can we do as a group to keep the site up and running.
We have the Video section--It is obvious things about Obama will be all over YouTube in the upcoming months and years, just because you w… Continue

This site has been the only thing that’s kept me sane during this election. I’ve been going out of my mind with anxiousness. I needed a place to cool off and share my freaked out thoughts with other people.
This site has been that place.
I’ve met people who were just as nervous as I was, and it helped me so much. It’s much easier to wallow if you’re wallowing with other people. And I did. And I don’t want to lose all these new friends.
Basically, I think this site should live on. Not just as… Continue
