YA for Obama

They want to know, "Who are the authors for McCain?" They are having trouble finding any.

In this interest of fairness, I will point them in the direction of YA for McCain, a site that opened up in response to this one. I think the founder of the site is an author, but I'm not sure.

Anyway . . hello, and welcome, YA for McCain! We should get a softball league together! (If you are Jessica from YA for McCain, drop me a line! My e-mail is maureen@maureenjohnsonbooks.com.)

And what do you guys think? Where are the McCain writers?

Jessica is not author; she's a teen reviewer.

That's so funny! To have two members is quite something.

Here is the comment Ieft on that blog: Authors are artistic, creative folk, generally liberal in their thinking for many reasons. (Despising the very idea of "censorship" in any form comes to mind. Oh yes, and the first amendment issue--why should it be on every conservative chopping block, while the second amendment is inviolable?) I think the reason you find more authors for Obama than for McCain should be relatively obvious!!

I think that's great! As long as they're expressing their opinion respectfully. The only thing that bugs me is the fact that they have an american flag on the top of their home page. Grrr...

I'm a moderate and I'll say this. I find authors as a whole tend to lean liberal. Vocally liberal. I have some republican author friends afraid to publicly support McCain because they are in the minority. I'm glad there's a McCain group, albeit a small one, just as I'm glad there are multiple parties. I'm not rushing to join, but more power to them.

It's quite hilarious, really. Two whole members. Wow.

Looks like a page put up just so there IS a YA for McCain page somewhere. Not much on it, is there?

While I highly disagree with the members for YA for McCain and suspect they'll have considerably less members, I respect their beliefs and commend them for trying. Maybe I'll join them, just for the heck of it. It isn't like we don't have some more moderate and conservative people on here.

Their are probably considerably more YA authors for Obama because most authors, at least all the ones I have met/read their blogs/watched their vlogs to their brothers, are genuinely thoughtful and insightful people.
